"express lane" has created more traffic congestion in an already busy area. the road was once basically a four lane highway, and is now a three lanes. naturally the left lane has grandma jane out for a sunday drive oblivious to the pile behind her and the right lane is stop and go because of the merging. whatever greedy MORON thought this was a good idea clearly is more interested in the dollars it takes to now use the fourth lane that's walled off. i speak for everyone driving from chesapeake to norfolk when i say, just admit that it's a terrible design and open all the lanes. 100,000 cars divided between 4 lanes is better than 100,000 divided between 3.

Widening roads contradicts Virginia's climate goals. Runoff and tire particulation pollute. The proliferation of EV's and SUV's increases average vehicle weight, worsening pavement wear. Structural improvements, rehabilitations, and restoration+expansion of pedestrian access are great!

We are all REAL PEOLPLE, the workers on the road as well as the ones that are behind the wheel. Lets try to treat each other as such....one and the same.

Our team spends most of their day out in the field and are at risk every single day for a distracted driver to enter our work zones. These stories remind us that no matter what we do to prepare for the day you never know what the vehicles around you are doing. Keep focus on your surroundings, plan for the day, don't get distracted, and expect the unexpected. Do your part and be safe out there RoadSafe. Lets all get from RoadSafe to HomeSafe. New England.
